Fantastic place to stay. Me and the family stay there in Aug 25 as part of a weekend visit to Diggerland, which is only 10 mins away. We stayed in the family room which was spacious and comfortable. The manager Anna created is for breakfast each more and made a fuss of the kids which they loved. The breakfast options were out of this world. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing. I would visit again just for that. Would highly recommend

Visited family who live nearby. We drove from SOS in Essex and were very pleased with our choice of guest house. Receptionist was very friendly and knowledgeable and pleased to help with local information. The Tower hotel is very quaint and clean tidy comfortable rooms. Breakfast was included and the choices were amazing! Location was great for both the city centre and our daughters home. We will definitely be back. Thanks for having us.!!!

Great room nice hotel for sure...only needed a hand held shower head. But...Too far to walk UPHILL back from Durham city center...if that is a concern. I'd rather walk around town and cathedral.

I wish I could have stayed longer here. I stayed 3 nights. Very comfortable room, and good breakfast. Good quality for the price overall. I needed to do some laundry and the manager was very helpful and has my clothes washed and dried by the same afternoon. Also when I first arrived (slightly early), they let me leave my heavy backpack, which was a huge help as I had to go to a library research appointment and would not have been able to bring that with me (let alone trekking up and down the hilly streets with it). Durham is beautiful and Farnley Tower was a great place to stay, particularly as a first time visitor.

What an amazing location. In a quiet area with amazing view across the city. Manager is so friendly and welcoming. Room was lovely, decor throughout it just great. Just a short walk into the city centre. Cannot fault it. Hope to be back again

Great place to stay if visiting Durham. Its about a 10 min walk to the centre and the cathedral. It is up a bank though. We had room 8 which was quite large with a bathroom with a bath. Bed was comfortable, room was spotless. Breakfast was delicious, cooked to order so fresh and hot. Service From the staff we encountered was excellent. Well worth the money.

I stayed here one night in mid June this year (2025). I had a car and parking was readily available. The building itself is an elegant older style mansion. The room was clean and comfortable. I had a large window view which was nice. This area of Durham is very green and pleasant. I arrived late after a long drive from Yorkshire but found my keys available at the front desk. The breakfast was good. The staff were friendly. The walk into the town center is pleasant, very hilly (downhill going, uphill coming back). Overall very satisfied. Durham is a very charming city to visit. I would recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was very good and the lady who served us couldnt do enough for us and with a smile. We will be making a return visit for sure.
